Voter Registration
Voter registration isn’t just about signing up new voters. It's about updating registration, curing errors in existing registration, and reestablishing the right to vote for anyone who may have been purged from voter rolls. While voter registration is often a nonpartisan activity, when voters register as Democrats, it improves the effectiveness of voter turnout work by letting Democratic canvassers exactly who to contact.

Swing State Canvassing
Stretch your quads and strap on your sneakers!Canvassing is an often thankless but undeniably essential part of voter persuasion and turnout. While it’s not as easy to do as phonebanking and the very act of knocking on a stranger’s door can bring up some social anxiety, even in the most extroverted among us, the work is worth it.Studies consistently show that it’s the most effective way to get out the vote, even on a round where most doors don’t open for you. That’s not surprising. As any field work vet will tell you, above all, canvassing is about community. Now… are you ready to meet your neighbors?

Take it to the House
To preserve and protect American democracy, a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives is necessary. While all 435 seats are on the ballot, the balance of power will be determined by a few dozen competitive seats.Use this guide to find where you can take action in a community close to you.

All Other States
Arizona
The state of John McCain and Sandra Day O'Connor is no longer a Republican stronghold.President Biden won Arizona's 11 electoral votes by less than half a percentage point and polls portend an equally close race this year.Four of the Grand Canyon state's nine House seats are competitive, with opportunities for action in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. With a US Senate seat also on the ballot along with a referendum that would restore abortion access in the state, when you canvass in AZ, you have the potential to be a force magnifier up and down the ballot.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The Centennial State used to be purple, but now it's solid blue. A Republican hasn't won a statewide election here since 2016.Alas, some election-denying House members still skulk around the Rockies. While the most famous of these MAGAs is expected to win her race this November, albeit in a newly-drawn district, two seats remain up for grabs: one near Denver and the other covering the state's west and southwest regions.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

With the population center of the DC metro area being overwhelmingly Blue, there's no question who the Old Line and Old Dominion States will be choosing at the top of the ticket or in their respective Senate races. But within a reasonable drive of the Beltway in any direction, lie several hotly-contested House districts where local Democrats could really use the footwork of allies from the nation's capital on the ground this fall.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The Sunshine State, as every Swiftie knows, is one hell of a drug. While its status as a swing state has been forsaken, Democratic Senate candidate Debbie Murcarsel-Powell is fighting to the end in her effort to flip a Senate seat. Thanks to the same state legislature who brought you hits like Don't Say Gay and a Mickey Mouse lawsuit, the House map has all but eliminated any competitive districts.Still, several are worth fighting for. And with a referendum on reproductive health on the ballot, turnout very well could flip this peninsula in our favor.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The devil—who, as we all know, went down to Georgia—works hard, but Georgia Republicans work harder at finding new ways to suppress votes and deter Democratic turnout.Nonetheless, momentum is on the side of democracy in the Peach State. After Georgia turned Blue for the first time in decades in 2020, now's the time to outwork the devil and his MAGA friends in the Atlanta, Athens, and Augusta metro areas to make sure that victory wasn't a fluke.Since this might be the last election President Jimmy Carter lives to see, let's make sure we make him proud.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The jewel between four Great Lakes may have dropped to fourth place in terms of electoral vote counts among swing states, but the Mitten State still packs a punch. On the table, aside from the top prize, are the Senate seat being sought by current Democratic congresswoman Elissa Slotkin and one toss-up House seat for each finger on your hand. With these competitive seats spread out across each of the state's population centers, be you a Spartan or a Wolverine, there are ample opportunities to get involved.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The Land of 10,000 Lakes has long been a bastion of midwest progressivism, having gone Blue at the Presidential level in every election but one since 1960.Still, some GOP operatives have fantasies of turning the North Star State purple like neighboring Wisconsin, spending small sums of money in an effort to do so.With Senator Amy Klobuchar and her coordinated campaign strategy atop the ticket, those Republicans were destined to fail even before Governor Tim Walz became the VP nominee.Even so, a few House races here could use some grassroots attention.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The continued population boom of the Las Vegas area and strong labor unions statewide give the Silver State its Blue State potential. With its six electoral votes, Nevada (make sure you say that right) is the smallest of battlegrounds on the Presidential level. But Senator Jacky Rosen needs to win her reelection for the Dems to hold the Senate. And with three competitive House seats—each in the Vegas area—this state is worth betting on in 2024.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

Despite the image of a prototypical New Englander as either a Boston Brahmin, Vermont hippie, or literal Kennedy, the nation's northeastern-most states are besotted with enough independently-minded voters to keep several House seats as designated toss-ups.While each of these incumbents is expected to win, these races are competitive enough that canvassing in a turnout effort will make a difference.Plus, what better way to see the fall colors than by doorknocking?Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

Though it's perhaps unfair that New York's congressional Democrats were blamed for the party losing the House in 2022 (is California not equally responsible?), it's not unreasonable to expect the Empire State to strike back in 2024, reclaiming what should have never been lost in the first place—all in districts in and around NYC.Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is expected to cruise to reelection victory in New York, just as Andy Kim is set to win his first Senate race in New Jersey. The Garden State also offers a small prize in its lone competitive House seat, also an easy reach for those who live in the City… perhaps on their way to Pennsylvania?Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

In addition to being a Presidential battleground for the last four cycles, the Tar Heel State has been a battleground on the state level with Democrats trying to fend off continued and repeated efforts by their state's GOP to circumvent election results and the will of voters.Accordingly, there's very little margin in House races here. However, with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Stein on track to defeat his sexist, bigoted, Holocaust-denying GOP opponent, a coattail victory is possible for the down ballot. The DNC is also investing in the Presidential race here, signalling the possibility of a statewide flip for the first time since 2008.Of course, that won't happen by itself.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

Once a competitive part of the electoral map, the Buckeye State has had its swing stuck on the right since 2016.That's not that long, and while the Presidential race has left this one-time bellwether behind in 2024, multiple competitive House races and a must-hold Senate race to re-elect Sherrod Brown make it an ideal hub to hunker down until November.(If you're not from here, maybe pack some orange clothes to fit in better with the Browns and Bengals fans.)Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

With its 19 electoral votes, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the largest of the swing states.Yes, the road to the White House runs through here, but the Keystone State holds some key House prizes too. While the exurbs of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh have largely solidified for Democrats in recent years, each major metro region—in addition to Harrisburg—contains a few House seats that need to be held or are targeted to be flipped Blue.Democrats have been elected to several statewide offices here but the legislature is narrowly divided with Republicans in charge of the State Senate... but just a few seats could flip it.With a US Senate seat also on the ballot, when you canvass in PA, you have the potential to be a force magnifier up and down the ballot.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

The Beaver and Evergreen States are so reliably blue, Presidential candidates may have legitimately forgotten they exist. Not that many Cascadians seem to mind; they run their own republic in these parts (or so they tell themselves).Beyond upholding the northern half of the nation's Pacific Blue Wall, citizens in the Portland, Seattle, and even Spokane metro areas have a chance to make a meaningful difference in the balance of the House this cycle.Yes, winning these toss-ups will require some legwork, but just think of it as hiking... for a cause.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

This is Texas. The Lone Star state has been Red for so long, folks forget it used to be the color of bluebonnets. While we're still an election cycle or two away from this being a truly competitive Presidential state, Colin Allred is doing his best this year to oust the Senate's universally hated trash demon known as Ted Cruz. And although the gerrymander isn't a native species in this state, you wouldn't know it from looking at the House district map.Nonetheless, true Texans have never been deterred by a little hard work, and that's just what it will take to flip and hold these seats. You heard the Queen B: don't be a bitch, come take it to the floor now.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.

Ironically, folks in the Badger State are known for being far too polite to badger anyone.Given that Biden only won by less than 1% in 2020—an average of about 12 votes per precinct—we invite all Democracy-loving Cheeseheads to find the balance between gentle nudging and nagging because at all levels, this election will be close.Yes, Senator Tammy Baldwin is popular, but the NRSC sees her as a soft target and has poured a sizable chunk of its war chest into the campaign of her carpetbagging opponent.Turnout is key, and running up the numbers in these competitive House districts can make all the difference.Click on the links below each candidate to learn more about them and take action.
